Kerry Ann Gibson

LAMPWORK

Kerry Ann lives and works in beautiful Ketch Harbour, Nova Scotia, Canada. You can find her most days in her seaside studio overlooking the harbour. She imports her glass rods from all over the world trying out new combinations of colour and design. Lampwork is created with a torch using a mix of propane and oxygen. She uses her love of bright colors to create unique beads, small sculptures and jewelry designs. Often she will create sea themed pieces as she is greatly influenced in her work by the sights and sounds of the ocean and seascapes that surround her.

Her love of coloured glass started many years ago when she first took up stained glass as a hobby. Kerry Ann has often said that she thinks it may have been as a baby, perhaps there was a stained glass window by her crib as she has been in love with the brightly coloured glass ever since. She progressed to fused glass and then finally to lampwork bead making. She also loves making unique one-of-a kind jewelry pieces, and in marrying this with her lampwork, she has been able to create one of a kind pieces that sell internationally.

While Kerry Ann often uses her online to presence to reach customers across the globe, she can also be found in shops locally. She sells at both Artisan Shows and in specialty shops here in Nova Scotia. Kerry Ann is an SRA member (Self Representing Glass Artist). Every summer she visits here at the Glass Artisan Studio in our lampworking shop to share and demonstrate the art of lampworking
